Godwyn, Prince of Death (Elden Ring fan design)

Concept fanart of Godwyn from Elden Ring. He's a character that gets mentioned a ton in the lore, but we never get to fight him in person.
This is what we know:

Godwyn the Golden was a demigod son of Queen Marika, the Eternal. He was a respected and revered hero who defended the capital city of Leyndell from an attack by the Ancient Dragons. He then spared the life of the dragon Fortissax, who became a loyal companion to him. Together they formed an alliance between Leyndell and the dragons, who taught Godwyn and his knights to summon lightning.

Later on Godwyn fell victim to a plan deviced by his half-sister, Ranni the Witch, who stole a fragment of the rune of Death. With this rune they killed Godwyn in soul only, his body remaining in a permanent state of undeath. Godwyn's corpse became the Prince of Death, spreading his influence across the Lands Between and giving rise to Those Who Live in Death.

I wanted to imagine what a possible boss fight against him could look like, complete with with a second phase and the rewards you would get from defeating him. I also wanted to come up with some new lore, explaining his return and motivations.

I think it turned out pretty cool!
